About the Role

The Client Delivery Lead owns the successful delivery of assigned client engagements from commercial handover and mobilisation through implementation, reporting, handover, renewal and close-out. The role combines modern project leadership, client relationship management, commercial control and delivery operations. The successful candidate will translate proposals, contracts and RFP commitments into practical delivery systems with clear ownership, milestones, budgets, dependencies, quality gates and decision points. This is an outcomes-based accountability role responsible for ensuring that Growthpad delivers high-quality work on time, within scope, at the expected margin and with no avoidable surprises for clients or leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Onboarding, Planning and Mobilisation

  • Take ownership of new engagements immediately after commercial handover and verify scope, assumptions,

2. Client Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day delivery contact for assigned clients and act as the accountable bridge between the client and Growthpad delivery teams.
  • Establish professional communication rhythms, including weekly work-in-progress meetings, monthly performance reviews, steering meetings and close-out sessions.
  • Prepare concise, decision-useful status reports covering completed work, upcoming deliverables, performance, risks, budget position, client actions and corrective measures.
  • Manage expectations proactively and communicate emerging issues before they affect trust, timelines, budgets or outcomes.
  • Track feedback, decisions, approvals, actions and change requests to maintain a complete and auditable record.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives, development partners, procurement teams, technical specialists, government stakeholders and partner organisations.
  • Identify client satisfaction risks, renewal opportunities and additional needs, then coordinate with leadership and business development without allowing uncontrolled scope expansion.

3. Cross-Brand and Cross-Functional Delivery Coordination

  • Coordinate teams across Growthpad Consulting Group and its brands, including strategy, research, digital media, content, creative, production, technology, data, sales outsourcing, workforce solutions, finance, legal and operations.
  • Convert deliverables into clearly assigned tasks with owners, deadlines, dependencies, effort estimates and quality standards.
  • Ensure every team member understands the client objective, audience, brief, success measures, deliverables and approval process.
  • Monitor workload and resource capacity, escalating gaps or conflicts before they affect delivery.
  • Facilitate productive collaboration between technical and non-technical specialists while keeping accountability clear.
  • Coordinate country partners, PAAN member agencies, freelancers, consultants, creators, field teams and specialist suppliers where required.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs between discovery, research, strategy, creative development, production, launch, measurement, reporting and close-out.

4. Management of Diverse Engagement Types

  • Integrated marketing, communication and demand-generation campaigns.
  • Performance media, SEO, content, account-based marketing and lead-generation programmes.
  • Brand strategy, market-entry, public-education and behaviour-change campaigns.
  • Websites, eCommerce platforms, portals, dashboards, CRM integrations and digital products.
  • Software, AI, data and digital transformation projects.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting systems.
  • Research, surveys, insight sprints and stakeholder consultations.
  • Donor-funded, public health and development-sector programmes.

5. Commercial, Budget and Scope Control

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, resource allocations, cost trackers and billing milestone schedules.
  • Monitor professional fees, supplier costs, media budgets, production expenses and approved pass-through costs.
  • Work with finance to track purchase orders, supplier invoices, client billing, collections dependencies and budget reconciliations.
  • Monitor project margin and identify budget or effort pressure early enough for corrective action.
  • Prevent uncontrolled scope expansion through disciplined change control and written approvals.
  • Document additional requests, assess impact on cost, timing and capacity, and secure approval before committing Growthpad resources.
  • Provide leadership with an accurate view of project delivery, committed resources, forecast and commercial risks.

6. Risk, Issue and Dependency Management

  • Create and maintain risk, assumption, issue and dependency registers for assigned engagements.
  • Identify delivery, financial, regulatory, reputational, technical, supplier, resource and stakeholder risks.
  • Assign risk owners, mitigation actions and escalation deadlines, then verify closure.
  • Maintain decision and escalation logs and ensure material issues are surfaced early.
  • Coordinate contingency planning for supplier delays, approval bottlenecks, technology problems, data-access issues and resource constraints.
  • Support crisis-response coordination where project issues could affect client trust or Growthpad reputation.

7. Quality Assurance, Compliance and Handover

  • Establish quality gates for major project stages and deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal reviews before work is shared with clients, deployed or released publicly.
  • Check deliverables against the approved brief, contract, brand standards, RFP requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure client comments and review rounds are tracked, resolved and formally closed.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, technical and specialist advisers on data protection, intellectual property, contractual, regulatory and supplier compliance.
  • Maintain complete, organised and audit-ready project documentation.
  • Ensure handover packages include approved assets, reports, data, source files, access information, manuals, credentials transfer records and lessons learned.

8. Reporting, Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate timely collection of performance inputs from media, analytics, creative, research, technology, operations and finance teams.
  • Ensure reports distinguish between activities completed, outputs delivered, outcomes achieved, commercial implications and decisions required.
  • Maintain dashboards, client scorecards, milestone trackers and portfolio health views.
  • Work with specialists to ensure reporting data is accurate, traceable and useful for decision-making.
  • Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and final reports according to each engagement’s governance requirements.
  • Facilitate post-project reviews and convert lessons into better templates, processes, estimates and delivery standards.
  • Ensure reporting consistently answers what happened, why it happened, what Growthpad changed and what the client should decide next.

9. AI-Native Delivery Operations

  • Use approved AI tools to accelerate planning, meeting preparation, task structuring, reporting, risk identification, documentation and quality reviews.
  • Convert lengthy RFPs, contracts and meeting records into structured action plans, responsibility matrices and decision trackers.
  • Use AI-assisted analysis to identify missing dependencies, conflicting timelines, unclear ownership and potential delivery risks.
  • Create reusable prompts, templates and approved automations for recurring client-delivery processes.
  • Apply human judgement to all AI-generated outputs and validate facts, calculations, commitments and client communications before use.
  • Protect confidential and client information by using approved tools and following Growthpad data-handling requirements.
  • Help delivery teams adopt AI practically to reduce administrative work and improve speed, visibility and discipline.

10. Proposal, Renewal and Growth Support

  • Support development of project methodologies, workplans, implementation schedules and governance structures for proposals.
  • Review proposed timelines, staffing, assumptions and deliverables for operational and commercial realism before submission.
  • Support project costing by clarifying phases, dependencies, resource requirements and effort assumptions.
  • Participate in pitches and explain the proposed delivery model and governance approach.
  • Ensure successful proposals transition cleanly from business development to implementation.
  • Contribute evidence, results, lessons and case-study inputs from completed work.
  • Support renewal planning and account expansion by identifying client needs, documented outcomes and logical next-phase opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • At least three years of client delivery, project management or engagement-management experience in a consultancy, technology company, agency, professional-services firm or similarly fast-paced client-service environment.
  • Demonstrable experience owning projects or client engagements from mobilisation through delivery, reporting and close-out.

  • A recognised project management certification is required. Acceptable qualifications include PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, AgilePM, Certified ScrumMaster, CAPM with strong practical experience, or an equivalent recognised credential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, information technology, communications, marketing, development studies, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing several client accounts, projects or workstreams concurrently.
  • Evidence of managing timelines, budgets, risks, client expectations, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Asana, Slack and Notion, as well as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Trello, Monday.com, ClickUp, Miro or similar delivery platforms.
  • Demonstrable ability to use AI tools responsibly within planning, reporting and delivery workflows.
  • Strong written communication, meeting facilitation, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear executive status reports, project plans, meeting records, risk registers, budgets and client-facing documentation.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge unrealistic timelines, ambiguous briefs and uncontrolled scope changes.
  • Ability to lead both technical and non-technical teams without relying on formal authority.
  • High attention to detail without losing sight of the client’s strategic and commercial objective.
  • Experience within a creative, communications, marketing, digital, workforce or technology business.
  • Experience in management consulting, advisory services or donor-funded programmes.
  • Exposure to multi-country or pan-African engagements.
  • Experience coordinating websites, software platforms, dashboards, CRM workflows or data projects.
  • Experience coordinating integrated campaigns involving creative, content, media, influencers, events or activations.
  • Understanding of monitoring, evaluation, learning and donor reporting.
  • Experience working with public health, financial services, technology, development, consumer or institutional clients.
  • Familiarity with data protection, procurement, supplier controls and audit-ready documentation.
